FANINA S.A. Electromechanical Equipment Factory is a Polish manufacturer of electromechanical equipment and metal components based in Przemyśl. Since its inception, the company has specialized in production for the railway transport, electromechanical, and energy industries.

Challenges

The automatic storage system MonoTower® allows storing over 60 tons of raw material on 20 shelves with useful dimensions of 4130 x 2100 x 48 mm (h) and a load capacity of 3,000 kg each.

Material transport is ensured by an elevator that moves shelves to the proper position within the rack. As standard, the sheet metal storage system MonoTower® is equipped with a depalletizer, used for efficiently separating sheet bundles from pallets. This enables material storage without traditional carriers and ensures full utilization of the system’s capacity.

Provided solution

The automatic storage system MonoTower® allows storing over 60 tons of raw material on 20 shelves with useful dimensions of 4130 x 2100 x 48 mm (h) and a load capacity of 3,000 kg each.

The depalletizer is located directly within the elevator outline.

Rack management is handled by Smart WMS Standard software, which provides straightforward system operation. Control is executed via an operator panel located directly at the rack.

Features

Due to continuous growth and expansion of its product portfolio, the company decided to build a new production hall intended for processing large-sized materials, including sheet metal plates up to 4 x 2 m in size.

Storing and transporting sheets of these dimensions to the laser cutter required a significant storage area and forklifts with non-standard lifting capacity and size, which reduced available workspace in the hall and increased safety risks for employees in the production area.
