Machine parts in the warehouse – quick and easy access to components is provided by the Modula automated storage lift
Pojazdy Komunalne Gamon Sp z o.o., a company from Aleksandrów Łódzki, constructs advanced technical vehicles for cleaning and maintaining sewerage systems in proper conditions. The production of this type of machinery requires the use of many components and accessories ranging from steel parts, wires, fasteners, hydraulic elements, pneumatic elements, sensors and of course the chassis of a truck. In the implementation process, access to all components should be ensured and the completion process should be carried out correctly. Is there the right way to achieve this? The solution have been the use of the Modula automated storage lift, which was provided by Baumalog.
The 6,5 meters high Modula lift, which is being used in the Pojazdy Komunalne Gamon Sp z o.o. company consists of 2 storage columns (front and back), between them there is a transport column in which the elevator moves the trays between the storage columns and the access window. In the case of PK Gamon Sp. z o.o. the Modula lift with a maximum load capacity of 60 tons is equipped with 30 trays with dimensions of 4100 mm x 857 mm and a load capacity of 500 kg each, ensuring over 105 m2 of storage space.
Each of the vehicles produced by the PK Gamon Sp. z o.o. is different from the previous ones, hence the need to take care of error-free completion of components necessary for the subsequent stages of assembly. After all, even the lack of one small element causes the assembled machine to be incomplete. The reduction of the errors to the absolute minimum takes place by using a barcode reader, which is used to read barcodes, which are labeled on articles and orders.
The access window is equipped with an optical height measurement that allows measuring the height of articles on the trays and storing them inside without losing space. The measurement of the position of the shelves is carried out with an accuracy of 25 mm, which ensures high efficiency in the use of storage space.
Right next to the access window there is a desktop with a convenient color touch screen from which the operator issues commands so that the right goods reach his hands.
The Modula automated storage lift is equipped with a control panel using an industrial computer with a Windows operating system, which enables a very simple and easy exchange of data (CSV or XML files) with an external information system.
Thanks to the WMS Modula software, system provides full information on inventory, minimum states, locations and ensures the execution of orders sent from an external ERP system.
Modula S.p.A is the world market leader in the production of automatic storage racks. In Poland, the representative of the Modula brand is the Baumalog company, a producer of automatic sheet and profile storage systems.
