Metal sheets storage

Atre Sp. z o.o. company manufactures stainless steel furniture and equipment for the HoReCa industry. Atre’s products are sold to hotels and restaurants around the world.

With the rapid development and increase in contracts, Atre has decided to build a new production hall equipped with an automated sheet metal warehouse to store 3,000 x 1,500 mm stainless steel sheets. The solution proposed and implemented by Baumalog is TransferTower automated storage system, with two movable stations. One of station is equipped with a hydraulic lifting device for depalletizing sheet packs, allowing the sheets to be loaded on shelves without pallet and a weighing device to control the weight of material on the shelves.

The TransferTower automated storage systems has a solution in the form of a transfer station, allowing the shelves to be transported between two systems. The transfer station moves at the top of both TwinTower^® systems and the shelves are delivered to it by using two lifts moving in each. The connection of both systems with the transfer station provides access to the entire range of metal sheets stored inside, using each station. The systems have been installed near two laser cutting machines and the transport of sheet metal to the laser’s tables is ensured by two column-mounted jib cranes equipped with vacuum lifters. Despite the low height of the room (4.6 m), the capacity of the systems is a total of 70 movable shelves with a capacity of 3 tons each, which allows to store 210 tons of sheets. Due to the stainless steel stored on the shelves, the surface of the shelves has been lined with a special material which protects the sheets from possible damage. Each shelf has an independent control panel, with intuitive software, ensuring that two operators work simultaneously.
