Baumalog on the podium in Garmin Iron Triathlon!

On the last weekend of August, our company’s representation, composed of Karol Mechacki (Junior Designer), Marcin Szulc (Chief Technical Officer) and Piotr Żołnik (Designers Office Deputy Manager), took 2nd place in the 1/4 IronMan triathlon relay, which was held as part of the Garmin Iron Triathlon series in Płock.

 

The 1/4 IronMan distance, consisting of a 950m swim, 45km bike ride and 10.5km run, took our relay team 2 hours 31 minutes and 47 seconds. The men gave their all at every stage of the competition. Karol Mechacki competed in the first swimming stage, which took place in the Sobótka Lagoon. After 950 metres of swimming and 900 metres of running up to the transition zone, our team was in fourth place with a time of 29 minutes and 22 seconds. Marcin Szulc, who started next for the cycling competition, achieved an excellent time of 1 hour 13 minutes on 2 loops from the centre of Płock to Biskupice covering a total distance of 45 km. The last running stage, which took place on the streets of Płock, was that of Piotr Żołnik, who reached the finish line with a very good time of 47 minutes 12 seconds over a distance of 10.5 km. Summarizing, that was an excellent result, which gave the team second place in its debut in this type of competition.
